The Flavour Academy by Café del Sol is presenting its second series of interactive, hands-on cooking classes in a relaxed and informal learning environment with the spotlight on Flambe!

At the heart of Café del Sol lies a passionate Italian family that believes in bringing people together around wholesome food, using only the finest and freshest ingredients, served immediately from the pan to plate. Their culinary style reflects a unique and contemporary approach to Italian cuisine and cooking.

The workshops, presented by Mamma Luciana and her daughter Chiara, (who believes that if you can drink it, you can cook with it) will focus on original Italian dishes, recipes and flavours, and are designed for people who love and appreciate fine food and wine.

The Salute Series puts the spotlight on Flambé cooking; each month has a different theme, cooking with spirits students of the class can look forward to upgrading their culinary skills by preparing and indulging in a three-course meal paired with wine from various South African winemakers.

Wednesday 31 July we will be cooking with Jack Daniels and the dishes paired with wines from Hartenberg.

Wednesday 28 August the Salute Series is cooking with Jose Cuervo tequila with dishes paired with Vriesenhof wines.
