RMB Starlight Classics brings together a host of local and international music stars for a truly unique blend of classical, opera, pop and Afro-soul – all rolled into one thrilling AfroSymphonic celebration under the baton of Maestro Richard Cock – on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) on Easter Monday, 13 April at 15:30.
From the moment the show opens with a reimagining of Antonín Dvořák’s ‘New World Symphony ‘to Siki Jo-An’s showstopping rendition of Miriam Makeba’s ‘Qongqothwane’ and beyond to Nombulelo Yende’s ‘Never Enough’ from The Greatest Showman, RMB Starlight Classics continues to surprise with unique collaborations and interpretations, bringing possibilities to life on stage in unprecedented ways.
There are few – if any – places where Edvard Grieg’s ‘Piano Concerto in A minor’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ could flow into each other – but virtuoso pianist Charl du Plessis makes it seem effortless and beautiful, in equal measure. Keep an eye out for child prodigy crooner Joshua Bouwer as he threatens to steal the spotlight from the accomplished international stars on the Starlight stage…
Don’t miss the RMB Starlight Classics spring concert on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) on 13 April at 15:30.
