Looking for affordable, yet classy and upmarket self-catering accommodation for your upcoming stay in the Stellenbosch area? Then look no further than Cape Summer Villas’ who have just added to their extensive portfolio, 18 fully furnished, self-catering apartments in the super centrally located, The Den complex in Stellenbosch.

The complex is located at the end of its cul de sac road, and sports security gates with a 24-hour guard, access codes and secure parking which I loved. The complex, although quite nondescript from the outside and in the halls, will find you being completely wowed once you open the front door to your apartment or studio.

Our 2 bedroom corner apartment boasted not only stunning mountain views but was also impeccably and eclectically decorated in beautiful shades of blues, greens and golds, some pretty cool and funky tiling in the kitchen caught my eye and its clear that the furnishings and decoration were put together with thought, care and panache.

The apartment literally contains everything you would need for a short to medium-length stay and Cape Summer Villas have gone out of their way to ensure that things like a coffee machine, big fridge, washing machine, ironing board and iron etc are available.

Both bedrooms have double beds and plenty of cupboard space, with a shared bathroom, which has a shower, loo and basin. The lounge area works perfectly with a TV and couch area and a separate dining table that I used to work at, as well as a fast wifi internet connection.

I loved the glass-enclosed balcony, which sported a built-in braai area and seating area, that could be totally opened up or closed off depending on one’s mood and entertaining preferences too.

If one prefers a more communal braai vibe, then head up the stairs to the well laid out roof garden, which sports not only several braai and seating areas but also a sunken rooftop pool – now that’s what I call a pool with a view!

The Cape Summer Villa collection owns three 2-bedroom apartments (with separate bedrooms, en-suite bathroom, kitchen and lounge, with a flat-screen TV with DStv, Netflix and Showmax) and 15 open-plan studio apartments situated on the top level (6th floor) at The Den.

These sophisticated apartments are available for two nights or longer, stays and The Den is close to the town centre and restaurants, shops etc.

I would not advise walking into town, so having a car would be the best bet and the apartments are perfect for tourists and holidaymakers who are looking to visit the beautiful town and not blow the budget – yet still stay in comfort and luxury.
