It’s school holidays so take a break, round up the family and head out to Groote Post on Sunday 29th March for a day of family fun and relaxation at their popular Country Market.

Family-friendly activities are always a priority so there will be loads of activities and delicious offerings for everyone, especially the kids. Highlights of the March Market include entertainment by the highly acclaimed Nadine Blom Jazz Trio, and the 2.8km “Om Die Dam” Nature Walk for the family to do in their own time. It is doggy friendly and free of charges. All you have to do is complete an indemnity form at the I Love Yzer stall at the entrance to the market.

The terrace in front of Hilda’s Kitchen and adjacent to the Cellar will be brimming with market stalls offering delicious and beautiful country offerings including artisan foods, arts and crafts, homeware, clothing, décor, gifts, jewellery, accessories, fresh produce and more. Local is always lekker at Groote Post, with a divine selection of Darling gourmet produce including Darling Honey, Darling Meat, the popular Darling Brew and of course Groote Post’s well-loved wines. Look out for popular newcomers to the market such as Die Boepens Spens, The Happy Hippie and more… The Bubbly & Oyster stand, as always, will be extremely popular.

The Market is always lots of fun for children. They will love the rolling lawns and wide-open spaces to run around and explore and they will be kept busy with various kiddies’ activities: tractor rides, guided horse rides, the popular playground and more. And the market stalls will be offering all the things that kids love – lots of toys and a wide variety of delicious kiddie treats. The Groote Post Market is an outing for the whole family including one’s furry children, but dogs must please be kept on a leash at all times.

After browsing through the market, relax on the beautiful lawns under the trees tucking into yummy treats from the market and enjoying the popular music and entertainment provided by Nadine Blom, widely acclaimed South African songwriter and performing artist who has performed to both national and international audiences. Joining her onstage is the virtuoso jazz pianist with true Cape Town swag, Winston Siljeur, and the very gifted Garin Browers on Saxophone. The trio will be performing the cream of jazz including evergreens such as “Summertime”, “Over the Rainbow”, “Autumn Leaves” and “Fly Me to the Moon”, Afrikaans song highlights such as “Mannetjies Roux” and “Somer” (Johannes Kerkorrel) as well as struggle tunes like “Weeping” and “Lakujoni Langa”.
