Indulge your love for the Grande life this Valentine’s Day at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in the heart of Franschhoek. Couples can delight in a swoon-worthy dinner menu or enjoy a romantic picnic lunch under majestic oaks on Friday 14th February.

On arrival, couples will be welcomed with oysters and bubbly to set the scene for the most romantic day of the year. Chef Marvin Robyn will be spoiling couples with a sensuous 4-course Valentine’s menu.

For starters, he’s working his magic with red, the colour of love, with a tempting choice between compressed watermelon, feta cheese, confit tomatoes and kalamata; or beetroot tagliatelle, burrata, dukkah spice, honeycomb and beetroot potpourri. The next course of fresh Saldana Bay oysters paired with kimchi, fresh plums, oyster kings and sweet lime mayo is pure seduction.

Alternatively, if oysters are not for you, try the heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella, basil pesto and Kalamata crumb. For mains, couples can choose between springbok loin, fire-roasted beetroot, pickled onions with beetroot gastrique; or the line fish, grilled gem lettuce, sweetcorn and smoked snoek croquettes with chilli caramel. For dessert there is a choice between heavenly vanilla panna cotta with raspberry sorbet and dried meringue; or frozen chocolate mousse, red velvet cake and dried strawberries.

The Valentine’s picnic basket which is available all day is pure abundance packed to the brim with delicious artisanal foods. Treats include fresh seasonal fruits, tomato basil & feta tartlet, assorted arancini, estate made hummus, local cheeses and charcuterie, and a decadent chocolate brownie. The basket comes with a bottle of the estate’s popular Angels Tears wine as well as still or sparkling water.

The cost per person of the Valentine’s Day is R800, while the picnic is available at R600 per person until 16h00. Dinner guests can book for three different sittings at 18h30, 19h30 or 20h00. Pre-paid bookings are essential.
