I recently enjoyed two incredible days of rest and serious relaxation at the beautiful Amanzi Guest House. After a busy year, I wanted to spend the time unwinding and indeed I did just that in this beautiful, green and peaceful urban oasis.

From start to finish I was made to feel like part of the family – Pam and Rob were fabulous hosts, friendly but not intrusive at all – and the Guest House dogs Max and Shadow were as welcoming as their owners.

Located in Craighall Park, this beautiful property features not only secure parking, beautiful lush gardens and a wealth of different birdlife, but also 3 cottages and 4 apartments, all self-catering, with en suite bathrooms.

My apartment looked out over the pool and garden area, and I was really impressed by the peace and serenity that I had just stepped in to and watching the sun setting from the upstairs deck with a glass of wine made this stay even more magical.

I slept in and enjoyed tasty breakfasts served on the peaceful, glass-enclosed patio. Pam lays out a beautiful spread, featuring homemade muesli, chopped fruits, freshly made hot breakfasts are available to order and tasty baked treats feature as well, such as piping hot blueberry mini loaves and fresh croissants.

Each of the units is self-catering and offers the basic amenities such as stove, microwave and mini-fridge, with cutlery and crockery well-stocked, and I could say that I would easily be able to live here for a while creating my own dinners and lunches. Bathrooms are big and my [apartment offered work area, as well as a lounge area with full DSTV bouquet (although I did not watch TV while I was there.)

The apartment was light and airy, the light wood laminated flooring and carefully selected throw rugs and decor items, added small, but thoughtful touches to creating the perfect

Units are serviced daily and a laundry service is also offered, WiFi (the most important part of any hotel stay for me, as you know!) was bullet fast and I spent much time researching on my I-Pad and playing about on my phone, in between those afternoon naps 😉

Located close to the neighbourhood shopping centres, well known local hangout Corner Cafe and is a super safe suburb to enjoy a walk, or you can even head down to Delta Park to take a stroll along the river, very popular on weekends.

Amanzi Guest House has won the best Certificate of Excellence Award from TripAdvisor from 2015 – 2019 and is one of the most reviewed properties in Johannesburg – it’s clear to see why. International guests return year after year to make this their Joburg base for their travels, and business/corporate stays are also welcomed.

The property is quiet and chilling by the pool with a book, or on the upstairs deck watching the sunset was a true balm to my tired soul. Highly recommend Amanzi for a short or long term stay, they are perfectly located and close to shops, Sandton, Rosebank areas. Your home away from home in Craighall Park is right here…
