As an incredibly successful 2019 draws to an end for 19-year-old local Pop-sensation, Paxton, she teams up with producer Dr Moruti on her latest single ‘No Distractions’ – out now across all digital platforms.
Paxton joined Dr Moruti in his studio in Shoshanguve to record her latest single ‘No Distractions’ and fans are going to go crazy for this track. Dr Moruti has claimed his place in SA is a top producer working with the likes of Black Motion, Oliver Mtukudzi, Lady Zamar, Zakes Bantwini, Dj Zinhle, Bucie, Donald and many more. He adds Paxton to this incredible list, creating a single that brings a new wave of music for this talented young singer.
‘No Distractions’ sees Paxton celebrate an evolution in her music and unveils a bold, new, yet authentically South African sound.
Paxton has found new energy and love for music with the release of this single. “This song is really something special because, before this song, I went through a period where I wasn’t feeling very creative and productive. This song changed all of that, it kept me on my feet and kind of just made me realize why I do what I do. It was really cool to work with Dr Moruti. He has inspired me through his story and his passion for music.”
Paxton continues, saying “We only had a couple of days to create something magical and we decided to do it organically. We literally started from scratch and I was in the studio with him through the whole process and I think that’s one of the reasons why I feel so connected this song. When I wrote this song, I wanted it to be something people could relate to, and not your typical house love story. This sound is so fresh and authentically South African with an element of pop which is, in my opinion, the perfect combination. It is also different to everything else I’ve done and I’m really excited to release it!”
2019 has been quite a year for Paxton. She attended Musexpo in Los Angeles, where she performed for some of the biggest names in the Global Industry. In May she returned to Sweden to perform once again for the Queen, and continue her work as the “You, Me: Equal Rights Ambassador”, along with a trip to India in August as a UNESCO Ambassador of Kindness.
Paxton will also end the year with a performance at Jacaranda FM’s Carols by Candlelight on the 7th of Dec in Johannesburg and kicks off 2020 with a performance at Kirstenbosch on the 8th of January. Follow Paxton on her social media pages for all info on upcoming news and shows.
