Looking for a fun way to spoil your Dad this Father’s Day? I have to say that if I lived in Cape Town I would certainly snap up this fabulous opportunity for an entire weekend of spoiling!

Start your morning with a leisurely breakfast at one of Franschhoek’s best breakfast spots. You can cosy up at Bistro BonBon to the crackling sound of a wood-burning fireplace, while you enjoy breakfast for only R100 per person, which includes tea or coffee.

After breakfast, you can make your way to the Franschhoek Cellar at 11hoo to join in with Franschhoek Winter Wines where you will be able to taste more than 18 of Franschhoek’s best seasonal red wines. The chefs at Franschhoek Cellar have put together the perfect Winter menu for the day’s festivities.

Artisanal sourdough pizzas, grilled sirloin Panini’s and pulled pork Tacos are some of the savoury delights you’re bound to find. The sweet station is guaranteed to satisfy any dessert craving you may encounter. It is a day suited to the whole family as the venue is perfect for young children with its secure and supervised kiddies’ area. Live music will round off what promises to be the perfect day out to the Franschhoek Wine Valley.

Make the most of the incredible views in Franschhoek and head on over to Mont Rochelle where you can enjoy sundowners with their 2 for 1 special on all drinks from the bar menu (17h00 –  19h00). Choose from their signature cocktails and mocktails, a Gin & Tonic or a selection of beers and ciders. Small bar snacks and a light menu is also available to order.

Dinner will offer the perfect opportunity to celebrate with dad as many of our restaurants are offering special seasonal menus. Choose between Bovine Restaurant’s set two (R200 per person) and three courses (R250 per person) dinner menus or book your table at The Dining Room at Leeu Estates where they are offering a special three-course menu at R350 per person, which includes a glass of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines.

Retreat to one of our many comfortable and stylish accommodation establishments for the night. With great value-added offerings available at the moment you will be able to stay a little longer to make the most of your long weekend.

The next day dad’s will be in for a treat at the Franschhoek Motor Museum where there will be more than enough motoring action on the go. Ranging from golden oldies to modern supercars, more than 80 motoring masterpieces from their collection will be on display. Dads only pay half price.

You can then spoil dad with a delectable Sunday lunch. Choose between a delicious three-course lunch menu with a signature twist on South African heritage food at Grande Provence (including a glass of bubbly on arrival) or enjoy a traditional cape buffet at the historic Rhone Homestead at Boschendal. Paulina’s Restaurant at Rickety Bridge will also offer a hearty three-course lunch on Sunday (R380 per person). Little ones under 12 can enjoy lunch from the a la carte kiddies menu.

And if this is not enough, don’t forget that there are loads for the active and adventurous dads to enjoy in Franschhoek. From a game of golf at the Jack Niklaus Signature golf course at Pearl Valley to a hike up the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve to a mountain biking adventure with Franschhoek Adventures. There is so much to do so be sure to make the most of the long weekend in Franschhoek and use the opportunity to treat dad to an unforgettable time!
