Towards the end of last year, I was happy to stumble across Chef & Guests – which in my mind is just the coolest concept! Basically what Chef & Guests offer you is a private chef experience designed to bring people together over the love of fine food – and even better, it’s all in the comfort of your own home (and they clean up everything afterwards as well)!

This is a unique culinary experience bringing you restaurant quality food and services directly into the comfort of your own home or at an exclusive venue if you are planning something super romantic – you know 😉

Chef & Guests over the perfect solution for baby showers, romantic dinners, wedding anniversaries, family get-togethers and just about any occasion that you would like a treat.

Head on to their website to select which chef you would like, create your own menu, or choose from the options online (from 3 – 6 courses) full service, complete clean up afterwards – and most of all you get a fun and hassle-free dinner served to you!

The chefs that they promote are all entrepreneurs using the platform to promote their skills and services. Our chef for the evening was Chef Dev, who was loads of fun and bubbly – our group was a bit raucous so she suited us perfectly.

Chef & Guests have very kindly given me a meal for 4 people valued at R 2000 to give away to one lucky reader who is based in either Johannesburg or Pretoria.

Please note that all beverages and extras will need to be supplied by the winner – the prize covers the chef and the food for one night for 4 people. The prize must be redeemed within 3 months of issue.

To stand a chance to enter, tell me what occasion would you love to celebrate with Chef & Guests in the comfort of your own home? Competition closes 25th February and the winner will be contacted via email. This prize is not transferrable.

Ooh so many events coming up! Our closest two friends bdays are both this month, one of which falls on the 14th feb so he doesn’t really get to celebrate his bday any year, focus is on Valentine’s Day usually. And his wife’s bday is the week after! This would be the perfect bday gift to them both.

Martie Schoeman February 11, 2019 at 3:10 pm

Ronell Davids February 11, 2019 at 3:19 pm

I recently came across this site and what a wonderful competition! Our newly adopted baby will be 1 years old in March, so it would be such a lovely idea to spoil her, ourselves and my eldest kids who are 23 and 21 years old! In April my life partner and myself celebrate our birthdays 2 days apart, and it could also be a very special treat for him as he has not been well for a while now. On a personal note, it would be extra extra special if we won and Chef Stephan Coetzee could be our chef…

I would love to celebrate my parents – they have sacrificed so much, and have stressed so much, to get my sister and I through our dream university courses. They’ve never made us feel guilty or pressurised about it, which is a phenomenal feat. They appreciate thoughtfully made food, but especially when they haven’t had to cook it!

Alessia Massaro February 12, 2019 at 6:49 pm

As a chef, I am always in the kitchen and even the thought of cooking for myself or my boyfriend exhausts me. His birthday is coming up so this would go down an absolute treat if we could both (plus 2 friends) be “wined and dined”. This is such an amazing concept! Will definitely consider it in future for those special occasions.

Jess February 13, 2019 at 9:23 am

Wow this would be so amazing, a dinner to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.

Mandy Nel February 13, 2019 at 9:41 am

This would be a great way to celebrate being with Grant for 18 wonderful, sometimes challenging, years. My soulmate & provider, who has allowed me the opportunity of volunteering at Lionsrock Big Cat Sanctuary, an animal welfare project that rehabilitates wild cats.

Larry Hodes February 13, 2019 at 10:26 am

I own various restaurants and it would be great to have a night off and be spoilt. When someone else cooks, it is always better to enjoy the meal than when you cook it yourself!

Larry Hodes February 13, 2019 at 10:29 am

I own various restaurants and it would be great to have a night off and be treated. When someone else cooks the meal always tastes better.

Aletia D February 13, 2019 at 3:25 pm

We have a small group of special friends that we do dinners together. We do aim for weekly but life does get in the way. It would a real treat to have them over for a chef and guests spoil.

Wow, so much to celebrate at the end of this month: celebrating life; my recovery (just recently had surgery); my brother’s new business; the love that my husband & I share; our new, spacious home which allows for better entertaining (we moved in 2 weeks ago & are almost done fully unpacking); we loooooove good food and wine pairing (especially,me); this would allow us to be entertainedwithout having to leave our precious chihuahua furbaby. And also, it’s been a while since we entertained and this would be a great way to get back into it. This would be truly wonderful.

Basani Shuma February 13, 2019 at 7:29 pm

Lauren Meehan February 15, 2019 at 10:59 am

March I am turning 25 and my boyfriend and I too will be celebrating our 7 year anniversary. My boyfriend has been the most amazing partner-in-crime with supporting, helping, encouraging me while I have been doing my Masters degree. Through kidney stones and hyper parathyroid tumor he has straightened my hair, brushed my teeth, cleaned my vomit bowls, gone out to go buy me food when I’m asleep and told me how proud he is of me everyday. I too would like to share this prize with my parents who have helped pay for my studies and never stop believing in me. My dad calls me Gordon Ramsay; even though im not the best cook I know and love everything about food and food programs. I know usually anniversaries are celebrated alone but my parents love my boyfriend and we always do double dates just to include them and have them around.I would just like to celebrate, thank and show my love for my mom, dad and boyfriend which I haven’t been able to do without an income as a student.

Saiyuri Nair February 15, 2019 at 11:46 am

I love this concept and would love to try it out for my hubby and I as it is sooo difficult to go out these days with a 1 year old, at least we could put her to bed and then have a night of good dining without going out. We are celebrating 15 years together in March and this would be a lovely way to celebrate

Yvonne Stanley February 15, 2019 at 12:08 pm

Thank you for the opportunity to enter this awesome competition. Would love this prize to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday coming up in April. He lives in a res and this would be such a treat for him to come home to such a grand spoil for his special day.

Denise Naidoo February 15, 2019 at 6:01 pm

Its our 4th wedding anniversary on the 25th of April. I would love this treat to celebrate our love and reminisce about our wedding day…

Cara van der Westhuizen February 16, 2019 at 6:36 am

The event I would love to celebrate with a special dinner is my grandparents 70th wedding anniversary! It would be a bittersweet event though as my grandfather passed away at the end of last year. My grandma now finds herself alone for the first time in all those years and my mom and my sister have really had to spend a lot of time comforting her. So this would be a celebration of womanhood, of family and love and of good food! Which my gran (Mormor in Swedish) would LOVE as she is stuck in an old age home with boring food. Holding thumbs!

Gerrit van der Walt February 16, 2019 at 9:46 am

My gorgeous girlfriend is turning 25 on the 25th of March and on the 30th of March we will be celebrating our 7 month anniversary. This will be an amazing prize to share with her especially before we move into the next stage of our relationship ??. She has always wanted to have a chef come and cook for us so this will be great to win for her.

Thandi Nxumalo February 16, 2019 at 11:27 am

MeeA Parkins February 16, 2019 at 7:04 pm

I’d love to spoil my husband, David, for his birthday in March. March is a big birthday month for us, with my brother, father and mother’s birthdays all falling in this month, along with our youngest son’s my husband’s and my father in-law’s – which means that budgets are always stretched and it’s usually my husband who draws the short straw…

Keshia Wylie February 18, 2019 at 5:18 pm

It’s my Boyfriends birthday in May so this would be the most amazing present for him! It has taken over a year and a half to move into his new home due to massive delays and headaches from the construction side of things! His house will be ready in April so This would be such a special treat to have in his new home in May where he can enjoy a lovely dinner with two of his closest friends (and me) to celebrate his birthday and his new home finally being ready

Anell February 18, 2019 at 6:39 pm

There is so many reasons to celebrate this, ONE is for the LOVE of Food! I am a chef and knowing the undestanding of making a great dish is one for the UNIQUE and daring! Its like a dramatic love story that unfolďs and pure appreciation of the director! For me, i want to celebrate for taking a Leap in the name of passion… going from a CDP position to a headchef and trying my best at it and inspiring others to do the same. Nothing more makes me happy than someone els cooking for me and has the same passion! Everyday is a battle but we make the best of it! Two (and my husband will kill me if he knows he is TWO lol) but its his birthday on the 7th and i would love to spoil him like this at home! He is the most unstanding and supportive best friend anyone could ask for and i really wish to show him my “love movie with food” … please help us unfold our story… in Magaliesburg 🙂

Adele Koolen February 18, 2019 at 7:34 pm

I would love to have the chefs at home to just celebrate family and friends. We shouldn’t need a special occasion to get together to celebrate life and love. Everyday is a celebration.

Heather Hook March 1, 2019 at 8:02 am

Congrats Adele, you are my lucky winner, an email will be coming through shortly! HH

Kate de wet February 19, 2019 at 11:37 am

Hi there,

My friend and I have been dying to catch up with each other over a nice relaxed double date dinner with our boyfriends- however we are all on strict budgets and just never find the time to make plans.

We have so many occasions to catch up on including her birthday last week, this would be the perfect birthday gift from me to her.

I’m also an extremely enthusiastic photographer and foodie based in Pretoria with a foodblog on Instagram called OrderingOutLoud and a photography page called Perspective 1. 0.

I love experiencing and blogging about foods, environments and giving tips to my followers – I would love to experience your service so that I can share it with my followers.

Chanene Ablett February 20, 2019 at 5:50 am
