Come one come all – this is not for the vegans, sadly – but last years Pinotage and Biltong Festival was a huge success, so much so that the organisers have once again announced that 18 of the countries top Pinotage producers will be attending this years Pinotage and Biltong Festival.
The Festival will once again be hosted at Leriba Hotel in Centurion on 13 and 14 October. One wine from each winery is paired with a biltong flavour, but most of these producers also have other Pinotage’s which will be for tasting and for sale directly from their stands.
The wineries are: Bellevue Wine Estate, Beyerskloof, De Krans, Ernst Gouws & Co, Flagstone Wines, Grande Provence, Hill & Dale, Jakkalsvlei, Koelenhof, Mellasat Vineyards, Mount Vernon, Neethlingshof, Perdeberg Cellar, Simonsvlei Winery, Taillard Wines, Van Loveren Family Vineyards Whalehaven and Wellington Wines.
The festival concept offers visitors a Pinotage & Biltong Pairing Card & Tasting Map which takes participants on a fun “festival route” to discover new Pinotage styles paired with curated biltong and droë wors flavours, courtesy of Pretoria-based Billa B & Co Biltong Deli. Festival visitors all dress in purple and white and Leriba Hotel will offer eats at the festival venue as well as in their restaurants on site.
