For the next 6 months the good folks of South Africa are goinmg to be making small, yet impactful changes in their communities, in the hopes of getting to see some of the biggest performing artists in the world all on one stage, on 2nd December at FNB Stadium.
Yesterday morning the collective media gasping in unison as Patrice Motsepe and Naomi Campbell announced the artist line up must have sucked curtains out of all the open windows in the surrounding Sandton areas.

The December event is the culmination of Global Citizen’s “Mandela 100” campaign in partnership with the House of Mandela; a series of global events honouring the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela in his centenary year.
Oprah Winfrey will deliver a special keynote address remembering Nelson Mandela and his legacy. Also present will be executive producers of the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 which include Dr. Precious Moloi Motsepe, Patrice Motsepe, Kweku Mandela, Dave Holmes, Declan Kelly, Liza Henshaw and Hugh Evans.
Hosts of the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 include Naomi Campbell, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Bonang Matheba, Tyler Perry, and Forest Whitaker.
Nelson Mandela famously called for this generation to realise an end to extreme poverty in one of his last public speeches, and activists and music fans can begin to earn their free tickets starting on August 21st and can sign up today at www.globalcitizen.org.za, demanding world leaders make major investments to end extreme poverty and take a stand for women and girls.
Tickets to the festival will be handed out in a lucky draw, which will see the top ‘points’ earners on the app being entered in to that draw.
