If you love great music, then you will be happy to know that The Sun Arena, Time Square provides the stage for the musical spectacular, Classics is Groot, when the outrageously popular show returns to Pretoria on 9 June 2018.
This year audiences can look forward to a tour de force of hits through the ages – from Bon Jovi to Andrew Lloyd Webber and from Cyndi Lauper to Evanansence. Last year’s sold out concert set the stage for an unmatched musical extravaganza, and this year’s production promises to leave the audience breathless once again.
The timeless pop music of ABBA, the songwriting genius of Elton John and the raw rock and roll power of Queen are but a few of the highlights that will be performed by some of South Africa’s greatest vocal talents, alongside the opulence of a full symphony orchestra.
“Classics is Groot 2018 will give extravaganza a new meaning. This year we honour the biggest music icons and showcase a performance from the legendary The Lion King as well as The Greatest Showman, the film on everyone’s lips,” says Barry Pretorius, creative director of Classics.
The angelic voice of international child prodigy Amira and the immaculate Touch of Class will once again share the stage with vocal virtuosos Corlea and Jannie Moolman for captivating moments that will steal your breath away.
Also gracing the stage will be international vocalist Joseph Clarke, best known for his brilliant interpretation of Freddie Mercury (Queen at the Opera), Tarryn Lamb, whom audiences will recognize as one third of the chart topping group Blackbyrd, as well as the beautiful Afrikaans songstress Monique Steyn.
Classics is Groot will be on stage at 13h00 and 19h30 in the Sun Arena, Time Square in Pretoria on 9 June 2018.
Tickets are now available from Computicket or Shoprite and Checkers stores nationwide.
