One of my fave ex Miss Sa’s ever, Liesl Laurie (recently spotted doing amazing things on Dancing with the Stars too) as joined the judging panel for the fourth and last regional finale – which has attracted the most entries to date.

Entrants will be vying for a spot as one of the Top 12 finalists for Miss South Africa 2018, one of whom will be crowned on May 27 at the pageant’s diamond jubilee. The winner will take home more than R2-million in prizes.

Taking place from Friday, April 13, to Sunday, April 15, the Gauteng regional competition concludes a hugely successful roadshow with auditions already having taken place in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape with 14 hopefuls already named as regional qualifiers.

The popular and successful Laurie joins fellow judges Bokang Montjane (Miss South Africa 2010), radio presenter and TV personality Anele Mdoda, Suzette van der Merwe (Miss South Africa 1990 and Cell C’s representative at the Miss South Africa Organisation) and Gareth Flusk (Sun International and the Miss SA Organisation).

The public are encouraged to participate as the regional competition forms part of the not-to-be-missed Women360 Expo, which helps women explore new avenues to enrich and enhance their lives.

It offers a diverse experience with everything from fashion and fragrance, health and nutrition to the latest aesthetics treatments and self-defence. A diverse range of speakers and personalities include celebrity chef Siba Mtongana, social media law expert Emma Sadleir, Miss South Africa 2017 Dr Adè van Heerden and pageant coach Werner Wessels.

The Women360 Expo opens at 16h00 on the Friday (April 13) with a fashion show at 19h30 where up-and-coming Gauteng designers will show off their collections as they vie for the opportunity to become part of the select group of designers who will dress Miss South Africa 2018 during her year of reign. This includes AFI Prive, the in-house label for African Fashion International (AFI), the organisation who produces and owns Fashion Week.

On the following day (Saturday, April 14), doors will open at 10h00 for an action-packed day of activities with the stage programme commencing at 12h00. The Miss South Africa Organisation has set aside various workshops and Q&As, especially for those interested in entering Miss South Africa.

The Miss South Africa Gauteng regional competition adjudication will take place on the Sunday (April 15). Due to the overwhelming number of entries received, it will now start at 08h00 until judging is complete.
