The new Tyler Perry film, Acrimony which released nationwide on the 29th March 2018 and opened with a total box office of over R2,8 million. The film ranked at number 3 on the weekend Top 10 for the period 30 March – 1 April 2018 and resulted in it having the biggest opening weekend result for any Tyler Perry film released in South Africa to date!
This psychological suspense thriller is Perry’s latest offering and contains all the ingredients needed for an unforgettable blockbuster.
The movie boasts a star-studded cast. Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson, known for her portrayal of Cookie Lyon in the award-winning hip-hop television series Empire delivers a chilling lead performance as the scorned wife, whilst Lyriq Bent is a very convincing husband. Crystle Stewart (Good Deeds, For Better or Worse), Jazmyn Simon (Baggage Claim), Danielle Nicolet (Central Intelligence), Ajiona Alexus (Empire), Jay Hunter (If Loving You is Wrong) and Jason Vail (Tammy) also star in the film.
