If you think you may be quite the master baker, and would like to win a bursary from Capsicum Culinary Studio to study further in the field that you love – then this is for you!!

America’s favourite celebrity baker Buddy Valastro is back with an all-new season of the hit series Cake Boss on TLC Discovery (DStv Channel 135) every Saturday with two episodes back-to-back at 19:00 and 19:30.

In celebration, South Africa’s esteemed chef school – Capsicum Culinary Studio – is giving one lucky person the chance to become their own cake boss and win a bursary to study for a diploma in patisserie worth more than R100 000.

Valastro is one of the most renowned cake artists in the US and the master baker of Carlo’s Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey, known for their marvellous and extraordinary cakes and patisserie.

In Season 9 of Cake Boss, Valastro and his team are back in the mix and it’s hotter than ever in the kitchen as he bakes up more elaborate creations, tackling more of the confectionary challenges that have made the series a global phenomenon.

Fourteen finalists will be selected in a random draw and will then compete in a cake bake-off at Capsicum’s Johannesburg campus on Saturday, October 21.

The winner will receive a bursary to study a Patisserie Diploma from City and Guilds at one of Capsicum’s six campuses around South Africa. It is an internationally recognised course that provides all the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge for anyone looking to specialise in pastry and desserts.
