If you are roud of your puppies, why not take this chance to show off your pooch at the second annual dog show at the course on Sunday, September 17 (starting at 14:00) at Parkview Golf Club.

The pooches of Parkview – whether pretty, pug-faced or pedigreed – are being pampered, preened and prepared for their big occasion.

“It’s one of several events the club arranges annually to involve local communities,” says club director, James Searson. “The inaugural event last year proved a great success and we’re looking forward to welcoming domestic pets and their owners from all the suburbs around the golf course.”

The afternoon will include an agility display by the Marks Park All Breeds Canine Club and a ‘brak parade’ of neighbourhood dogs.

James stresses that the accent is on fun rather than stringent examinations of breeding and appearance.

“The pooches will be judged in categories including puppies, the cutest dogs, dogs that resemble their owners, the best six legs shared by dogs and their owner, the best tail-wagger, best pairs of dogs, most mysterious heritage, and the dog who can perform the best trick. And we’ll have some great prizes for them,” James says.

There will be other attractions for children, and food and drinks will be on sale.

Entry is free, but the organisers ask that entrants bring a donation of dog or cat food for Animals in Distress. To enter before the day, please phone the club at 011 646 5400 or email nikki@parkviewgolf.co.za
