As I am sure you know I love discovering new spots and places to try, and have always wanted to check Glenda’s out – and the fact that they are now open for dinner is an added bonus.

The one thing that has always appealed to me about Glenda’s is that they focus on seasonal flavours with a constantly changing menu, and many of the ingredients are grown on site – herbs and veg etc.

Our evening started with a tour of the premises – from freshly baked cakes (make sure to check out the salted caramel popcorn cake), petit fours, choux pastries and juts about everything delicious.

The decor is unique – the floral wall grabbed my attention immediately, beautiful and colourful and a great backdrop for taking photos, to the furniture and the beautifully painted “G” on the floor, with  a little pink lip kiss next to it.

The beautiful pastries and cakes are housed in even more beautiful bell jars and to be honest I just wanted to eat them all! We kicked off with pink champers and the evening juts flowed from there (geddit?)

Starters were a huge decision, and I settled on the Salt and Pepper Calamari, which was done with a touch of charcoal dressing and had a surprising kick to it, but wholly delicious.

Others at the table ordered the Nunu Artichoke Pie – it received high praise, and the Mozarella with Confit Lemon and deep fried Artichoke.

Main course again involved dithering over the choices – mostly me, but I know others were also battling to choose as everything sounded so good! I was very happy with my choice of the Fish Cake – which was literally a pile of delicious salmon on a bed of spinach and smothered with a rocket mayo – fries on the side, and I was happy! The Crispy Pork Belly also received a notable mention.

For dessert I opted for one of my staple favourite desserts, malva pudding – and it did not disappoint! Amazingly melt in the mouth – I ate the entire thing! And I wonder why my pants don’t fit!? There was a cacophony of oohing and aaahing – which I assumed means that the Chocolate Brownie and the Salted Caramel Popcorn cake were a hit 😉

Do yourself a favour – be it a date night, a spoil yourself night, or a night out with friends, just go and give Glenda’s a whirl – you will not be disappointed!
