I recently got to spend a night at the newly built, and opened, Faircity Junction serviced apartments in Menlo Park, Pretoria and enjoyed my stay greatly.
The idea behind the hotel is that you can literally live there as long as you need to – ideal for people that are staying in Pretoria for work, be it a week or a month, or even people that are in the process of relocating and are waiting for their house or apartment to be ready.
The hotel is situated really close to Menlyn in the leafy and upmarket suburb of Menlo Park, and Menlyn Maine, Time Square and Menlyn Mall are within a 7 minute driving distance.
The 23 fully-serviced apartments are airy and filled with light from the large windows, and each comes with a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, including a washing machine and microwave.
Shades of grey are tastefully blended to create a calm and peaceful space, with an exposed brick wall to add a pop of colour to the living room area. A flat screen LED TV with DStv and Wi-Fi comes standard, and the bathroom offers a large shower and the usual amenities.
I was pleased to find an iron and ironing board, hair dryer and a fan in each bedroom – always a plus, and something that makes it feel a bit more homey.
The apartments are cleaned every day, and each afternoon the fridge is stocked with basic goodies to make a continental breakfast, fruit, yogurt, croissants and cheeses as well as fresh juice.
You can make your own meals in the evening, or get the shuttle to the mall, where a host of restaurants are available, as well as shops and a cinema etc.
If I were needing somewhere to stay in Pretoria, I would certainly recommend this home-away-from-home apartment concept hotel.
