Are you ready for SA Fashion Week, back with us stylish Joburgers from 28 March – 1 April 2017? This will be the Spring Summer edition, and is set to feature some of the top South African designers – once again hosted at the beautiful Park House of Events in Hyde Park.
I was lucky enough to sneak behind the scenes with iconic ladieswear designer JJ Schoeman to see what was on the mannequins, as well as his model line up for the show – I love sneak peaks.
There is no one that has dressed more South African and International personalities, for high profile red carpet events and profile shoots, than JJ Schoeman.
He has been on the forefront in shaping the fashion industry in South Africa for the past three decades; a veteran in conceptualizing local African Designs that have graced the streets of International cities, and dressing some of the world’smost beautiful women, including 80’s sensation Jennifer Rush, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Bonang Matheba, Miss World Organization Boss – Mrs. Julia Morley, Miss World – Rolene Strauss and current Miss South Africa Ntando Kunene…and loads more!
So what’s on the cards I hear you ask? Well florals are back in a huge way, as well seeing JJ catering to a more wider audience, accommodating everyone’s body shapes and sizes – I almost gave the man a standing ovation right then and there, let me tell you!
He is also featuring a really exciting dress that has a secret trick to it – I can’t tell you what that is – but trust me, your mom, your sister and your granny can all wear it too – and features a very clever use of fabric and ties. Yay!
Ladieswear designers for Fashion Week include everyone from Clive Rundle to Black Coffee, Pure Moon and Sober as well as Stitch and Steel, Tide Louw, Yanela Mtolo and loads more!
JJ’s show is on Thursday 30th March at 20h00 – make sure to book your tickets!
