Love yourself some opera? Then why enjoy a picnic, followed by Mozart’s Don Giovanni in the amphitheatre of the NIROX Sculpture Park on Saturday 28th January – and I have a set of tickets valued at R 600 to give away.
‘Don Giovanni’, is based on the legend of Don Juan – a fictional libertine and seducer. Mozart described it as an opera buffa, seamlessly blending comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements.
The opera will commence at 4pm but guests are welcome to arrive at the Sculpture Park from 1pm to take lunch in the park and meander through the glorious waterways, lawns and arbors populated with monumental contemporary sculptures.
Cuisine and beverages on offer will be curated by the Epicurean Emporium – a collective of high-end food traders who are the mainstay of NIROX’s well established concert programme.
‘Don Giovanni’ is presented in collaboration with Brooklyn Theatre as a part of the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival 2017.
