What a great evening with fellow foodies and the team from Zomato last week. Simply Asia at Hobart Grove in Bryanston pulled out all the stops for us enthusiastic foodies, and I was super impressed with everything from food to the wine and service.
We were treated to a great white and red wine by a unique Elgin Wine Farm – Red and Yellow Lorry – great wines. Check them out here.
We enjoyed a great set menu, which was tasty and vast. Starters were a latter f corn cakes, veg and chicken spring rolls with dipping sauces and chicken skewers with a satay sauce. We then enjoyed delicious fresh sushi platters, before a spicy Tom Yum soup was served, filled with prawns.
Main course was a green coconut curry and a beef and noodles dish, both were excellent. Dessert platters comprise chocolate spring rolls and deep fried bananas, both served with ice cream. As I live quite close by I hope that this will become new local foodie hangout.
The center is currently under construction, and the bathrooms were quite a “polar trek” to the other side of the center in the cold, but hopefully when they finish the construction there will be bathrooms located a bit closer to the restaurant.
