Looking for a new haunt for the holidays? Some really authentic Italian food? Something cool to do with the family? Then don’t hesitate to check out newly opened Hello Tomato, in The Riverside Shopping Centre, Bryanston.

Passionate owner John has been in the restaurant industry for many years, and his new baby Hello Tomato carries that passion throughout, from the funky decor, to the music and most importantly the food. John spent time in Italy learning all the ins and outs of Italian cooking – and his pizza’s are nothing short of superb.

Fresh ingredients and really unusual toppings, not to mention unusual names –  make for an interesting meal, try the Notorious P.I.G and Ragu-Mama pastas – totes yum – and my pizza favourites were the Cosmic Karma and The Holy Shittake. Salads like the Feta Compli make for great starters, and I recommend the Chicken Strips with dipping sauces as well.

Hello Tomato is also known for its frozen custards, kind of like frozen yogurt, but oh so much better! Salted Caramel and Lemon Meringue Pie flavours totally knocked my socks off.

The restaurant is really chilled, order your food and drinks at the counter, grab your table and the staff bring everything to you.
