So, as many of you may know, I am a huge fan of Hello Joburg Magazine – keeping me up to date on whats going on in and around Johannesburg, trendy new spots to visit and events that cater to a range of tastes.

Last week I was fortunate to join to the Hello Team for a night of fun, food, and activity all in the name of Hello Recommends, and to help them launch their new app GoHello.

The evening started off with an hour at Bounce situated in Waterfall Lifestyle Center, where our group shed their inhibitions, embraced their inner eight year old selves, and leapt around like kids. Bounce is a totally awesome adult and kid friendly venue, the entire floor is covered in trampolines and for an hour you can pretty much let your hair down while you shoot hoops, play dodgeball, leap in to foam pits and bounce off the floors and walls. Not only is it great exercise for those of us that are mostly sedentary during the day – but trampolining actually stimulates ones bodily organs to work more efficiently – double benefits here people, double benefits. Marshalls are constantly watching the goings on and making sure that the rules are stuck to, making sure that safety comes first.

After working up a good sweat we popped in to the gym for a quick shower, and then across the road to a delicious meal at Life Grand Cafe, Waterfall Corner. The menu was well thought out and presented, and the venue beautifully decorated with lights on the trees, and antique furniture, as well as well thought out table decorations to give a unique touch.

We started off with a delicious tapas menu, comprised of halloumi, calamari, prawns and chicken skewers that were mouth wateringly delicious, and a variety of breads served in an antique copper bucket, accompanied by spreads and tapanade’s.

For main course I selected the Chicken Espetada, which was artfully presented and the mash and vegetables were fantastic. Other options included Fillet or Seafood Paella, which I believe from other guests were both unfaultable.

Dessert was a platter of bite sizes again – the Chocolate Cheesecake was delicious, not too sweet, and a Sesame crusted Brie slice accompanied by a Berry Compote, as well as unique and tasty Blue Cheese Phyllo Barrels with Pineapple Chutney. Just enough to get a taste of everything, but not be overwhelmed with a huge plate of food, my kind of dining style.

The service was efficient and the service staff very friendly and helpful – as we know I am a stickler for good service, as this in my mind echoes the sentiments of the owners and all involved in the restaurant.

The whole point of the evening was to create awareness about GoHello – the new downloadable app for Joburgers on the go. Check out reviews on not only restaurants and activities, but accommodation, health and wellness, shopping and night life.
