Yes please! Barnyard once again pulls out all stops with this, literally, 50 Carat Gold show, aptly named. Sing dance, clap your hands and literally get up on stage and join in, if the mood so takes you.
50 Carat Gold opened in Johannesburg last week Wednesday evening, and I was lucky enough to be there on the opening evening, and sing along to 50 of the Greatest Hits of all time.
All the performers had the most amazingly powerful voices, and the band kept up with suprising alacrity. Smooth blend ins and outs, as well as several great mash ups of several songs at once – this show is a hit from start to finish. “Tina Turner” totally stole the show, and the “Endless Love” by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross rendition had goosebumps rising on my arms.
Throw in some good old “Loslappie” and “Asimbonanga” and the entire audience was on its feet – South African pride!
For once the male cast members carried the show, and what a great combo they made, amazing voices.
The tickets are affordable, the food delicious, throw in a couple of props and this is truly home grown entertainment for the whole family.
